Outer Banks, our grand colored bitone, is an exceptional member of the purple washed amoena class. It’s very tall with jauntily flaring falls. Seeing it in person allows the full impact to land. Photos of iris with flaring falls are not flattering because they appear squished. The alternative, a photo looking down is preferable, but - it’s looking down… Starch white standards are somewhat closed. The entire flower pulsates with the vibrancy of the underlying ruffling. A purple wash streams toward the ends of the falls, which lighten to a ¼” lavender edge. Akin to turning on a lantern, the captivating interior of Outer Banks is gold. Gold style arms, beard, and hafts convert this amoena into an enchanter. The Outer Banks, historic islands off the coast of North Carolina, are noted for quaint towns and the preservation of their natural beauty. Seedling # B1015-A
