Artist Statement: In life we all need protection. So do our treasures. The Bloom sterling silver setting showcases and protects this precious raw fluorite stone. The petals naturally encase the stone.  The ring is created with 2 lost wax casted pieces that I created in wax and soldered. The top bloom petals are one of a kind created in wax and lost in the process. The bottom band is a modify limited edition from my castings. The sterling silver is darkened for an oxidized finish.

Artist Bio: Laura Garza is a metalsmith, artist and designer in Chicago. Inspired by nature, travel and culture, Laura creates what she loves, raw and earthy pieces with a creative twist of modern and simple. As a design professional, conceptual and visual insight come naturally. Design is her life! Metalsmith is her passion. This is where she truly expresses her artistic talent.
With a degree in Communication Design, Laura has excelled in Brand and Packaging design. Ten years ago she restarted her passion for the fine arts and began to metalsmith. Since then she has successfully launched various collections and has showcased her work in boutiques, art shows, and galleries.
